NABL Accredited Calibration Lab- About NABL
NABL Accredited Calibration Lab- NABL is an autonomous Constituent Board of Quality Council of India designed and established under DPIIT that is Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
The objective underlying the establishment of NABL is to provide third-party analysing of the quality and technical competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Services of Calibration laboratories accredited by the NABL (governing and accreditation body) are used for testing and calibrations by government and private organizations, and industries in general. To establish the setup NABL offers laboratory accreditation services to calibration laboratories. Their intent is to perform checks on new and existing labs as per the rules and regulations of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 (calibration) and ISO 15189:2012 (medical) laboratories.
NABL accreditation system complies with both ISO/IEC 17011:2004, and Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC) MR001. Based on evaluation of NABL operations conducted by APAC in 2000, APAC and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), and as per their Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs), the body has granted NABL with the signatory membership status.
Under these ILAC MRA regulations, all reports that are issued by NABL accredited laboratories are to be valued on equal parameter to reports issued by 76 distinct accreditation bodies in 64 different economies. According to the latest development in NABL dimension of accreditation “Accreditation of PT Providers” based on international standard ISO/IEC 17043-Conformity Assessment- General Requirements of Proficiency Testing is under advance progressive working to attain ILAC / APAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) Signatory Status for international acceptability also.
